Outgoing President Tejinder Singh Sidhu who served from 2019 said, “It has been a privilege to serve as the President of the WSO for the past four years.  This has been an unprecedented time as for two of those years the world was dealing with the Covid pandemic.  That said, our achievements for the Sikh community have been very significant.  When members of our community were facing difficulties at work in dealing with new Covid requirements, whether they were Sikh RCMP officers, frontline medical workers or security guards we were there and secured the accommodations they needed to get back to work.  We also consistently worked to expose and confront Indian interference targeting Sikhs in Canada.  That work is even more important today in the aftermath of the assassination of Bhai Hardeep Singh Nijjar.  I would like to thank the team of directors who accompanied me on this journey and also our supporters from across Canada without whom our work would not be possible.  I am looking forward to the new Board taking the reins and assisting them in their journey forward.”

WSO President Danish Singh said, “It is an incredible honour to have been selected to lead the WSO Board for the next term.  The WSO is Canada’s only national Sikh advocacy group and serves as the voice for Canadian Sikhs on issues of concern.  These are unprecedented times for Sikhs in Canada as the Canadian government has finally publicly recognized the role of the Government of India in targeting Sikhs in this country. We will continue to ensure that Sikh voices are heard by the government, media and mainstream Canadians.  With the support of the community, our team is ready for the challenges ahead.”
