Ottawa (April 19, 2013): The World Sikh Organization of Canada has sent urgent correspondence to Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird, German Ambassador to Canada, Werner Wnendt and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh regarding the case of Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar, calling for their intervention to halt his imminent execution.
Human rights organizations have expressed that Prof. Bhullar was arrested under the now-lapsed Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Act, which had no provisions for appeals to the High Court.

Chandigarh/ Punjab (April 16, 2013): Punjabi singer-cum-actor Gippy Grewal has urged the Punjab government to lift the ban from Punjabi movie Sadda Haq. The movie was banned in Punjab - the home state of the producer Kuljinder Sidhu and Dinesh Sood on late night of April 4, just hours before it's release. Later the movie was also banned in Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh.
If India executes Professor Bhullar it will signal to the world that India is backward and prepared to go to extreme lengths to eliminate all Sikh political prisoners. India will also be testing the resolve of countries in the civilised world who will realise India has no respect for human rights, is barbaric and has no compassion and is using trade as blackmail.

New Delhi, India (April 16, 2013): According to certain media reports the security of Prof. Devender Pal Singh Bhullar has been heightened. It is also learnt that the visiting time for the family members has been reduced drastically.
Jalandhar/ Ludhiana, Punjab (April 16, 2013): In a wake of recent decision of Supreme Court of India clearing the execution of Sikh political prisoner Professor Davinderpal Singh Bhullar, various Sikhs circles are attempting to prevent the execution but there are reports in media that the state may attempt to secretly hang Prof. Bhullar.
