Sadda Haq Punjabi Movie set to hit cinemas across Punjab on April 5

Chandigarh, Punjab (March 24, 2013): Sadda Haq, an upcoming movie, based on events of 1980-90s in Punjab, is scheduled to be released worldwide on April 05, 2013. As per information available with Sikh Siaysat News (SSN) the movie is going to be screened in 25 Cinemas across Punjab and Chandigarh.

New Delhi, India (March 23, 2013): As per media reports the CBI today concluded it's arguments in the trial of an Indian politician leader Sajjan Kumar and five others in a November 1984 genocidal violence related case. The agency opposed the defence arguments and said the nature and extent of crime shows the vast network and larger conspiracy behind it.

109 members of US Congress call for Sikh hate crime tracking

Washington, DC (March 22, 2013): As per information available with Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) one hundred and nine members of the U.S. House of Representatives issued a new letter today calling on the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to begin tracking hate crimes against Sikhs, Hindus, and Arab-Americans, the way it does for other communities. The FBI is scheduled to make a decision about this issue in June.

Overwhelming response for film Sadda Haq in Calgary, Alberta – Punjabi movie based on events of 1980-90s in Punjab

Vancouver, BC (March 20, 2013): After securing the distribution rights to the film “Sadda Haq” in Canada, the Canadian Sikh Coalition (CSC) is seeing a wave of support from communities across Canada in regards to the film that was initially banned by the controversial Indian Censor Board. The film is a revealing and truthful account of the period of militancy in Punjab that spanned the 1980s and 1990s. It brings forward the conditions of the Punjab and its population and role of the central government in orchestrating what would be a genocidal campaign against the Sikh population.

Set back to Punjab CM Badal in US Court – Judge denies motion to stop Sikhs for Justice’s campaign

New York, US (March 21, 2013): According to information available with Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) during March 20, 2013 status conference, US Federal Judge Adelman denied Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s motion to stop “Sikhs For Justice” (SFJ)’s campaign to raise questions regarding credibility of Badal’s witnesses and allowed Rights group to continue deposing witnesses till March 22.

Montreal, Quebec (March 21, 2013): According to a news report by "The Suburban" (publiched on March 20, 2013) the World Sikh Organization (WSO), which promotes and advocates for the protection of human rights for all individuals, regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity and social or economic status, has expressed its concern about an incident during which a Montreal police sergeant allegedly broke a local Sikh truck drivers' elbow, leaving him unable to work for three months, as well as a permanent partial loss of arm flexibility.

Case against Sajjan Kumar – Delhi police secured adjournment alleging security reasons; Sikhs protested outside Delhi court

New Delhi, India (March 20, 2013): It is learnt that on March 18, 2013 the CBI was scheduled to conclude it's arguments in a November 1984 case against Indian politician Sajjan Kumar but the Delhi police was able to secure the adjournment of the issue citing security reasons. The trial of this case is being held at a court in Delhi.
