Amb Sahib/ Chandigarh (December 21, 2013): The Sikh Organization of Prisoners’ Welfare (SOPW) has declared that 3 Sikh political prisoners in Burrail Jail have decided to accept the parole (temporary release) granted to them by the concerned authorities.

Amb Sahib/ Chandigarh (December 21, 2013): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) the process of grant of parole (temporary release) of Bhai Gurmeet Singh, Lakhwinder Singh and Shamsher Singh is nearing completion. According to information shared on Facebook Fans page by Sikh Organization of Prisoners’ Welfare (UK), the process of grant of parole has reached final stage at government level. The Sikh Siyasat News sources have also confirmed this development.

Sikh youth who raised voice of political prisoners during Kabaddi cup released from Ludhiana Jail

Ludhiana, Punjab (December 21, 2013): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) a Sikh youth named Gurpreet Singh Guri Hans was released late this evening from Central Jail Ludhiana. Advocate Gurjinder Singh Sahni told SSN over phone that Gurpreet Singh’s bail was secured today from the Ludhiana police administration and he was released from jails.

Amb Sahib morcha gets support of masses; Marches to Amb Sahib on the rise

Amb Sahib, Mohali (December 21, 2013): Bandi Singh Rihai Morcha (Amb Sahib) has is getting support of masses from Punjab and adjoining states of Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. The morcha is an initiative of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, a Haryana based Sikh who is on fast unto death for last 38 days seeking permanent release of six Sikh political prisoners languishing in various Indian jails despite serving the terms of their sentences.

Ludhiana, Punjab (December 21, 2013): Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) sources revealed that the police administrations was constantly denying bail to Gurpreet Singh Guri Hans under political pressure. Guri Hans had attempted to use the stage of so-called World Kabaddi Cup on November 14, 2013 during final match at Ludhiana. He was booked by Division Number 8 police station of Ludhiana under 107/151 (Cr. P. C.), preventive detention clauses. He was sent to Ludhiana jail.
