Ludhiana (August 10, 2012): While participating in Sikh Siyasat’s fortnightly talkshow “Qaumi Masle”, former President of Sikh Students Federation and youth Sikh leader Bhai Mandhir Singh differentiated the acts of motivated violence by individuals or groups of certain individuals occurring in Europe or Western countries and in India.

“Motivated acts of individual violence occur in various parts of the world, including Europe, USA and India – but there is a basic difference between incidents that occur in the West or Europe and in India” said Bhai Mandhir Singh.

“In Europe or Western countries these acts are not backed by the State, but in India such incidents of individual or group violence against minorities are backed by the State.” he elaborated.

“There are enormous instances where Indian state has protected the persons who committed brutal crimes of physical violence against minorities – including mass killings and gang rapes with women belonging to minority communities” Bhai Mandhir Singh added.

“We have seen that US police was very quick to respond to the terror strike in Gurudwara Sahib and due to their intervention the striker was got shot on the spot, otherwise there could have been more killings of innocent worshippers” he opined.

The sixth episode of fortnightly “Qaumi Masle” is scheduled to be aired in Europe on Sangat TV on Saturday, the 11th of August, 2012 at 19:00 hrs local time. In this episode the issue of terror strike on a Sikh Gurudwara Sahib in Wisconsin, USA was thoroughly discussed.

Senior Journalist (UNI Retd.) S. Jaspal Singh Sidhu and Sikh scholar and author S. Gurtej Singh (Ex-IAS) also took part in talkshow that was held in Punjab studio of Sangat TV.
