After being declared Tankhaiya, Bikram Majithia Apologises to Takht Hazur Sahib too

Ludhiana, Punjab (April 29, 2014): Shiromani Akali Dal Badal leader and Punjab Cabinet Minister is caught up in a big fix as he distorted a Shabad of Guru Gobind Singh Ji while seeking vote for Hindutva ideologue Arun Jaitley.

As his blasphemous utterance sparked strong resentment from Sikh circles, Bikram Majithia submitted an ‘apology’ to Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh. But he was, meanwhile, declared as ‘tankhaiya’ by Takht Hazoor Sahib.

According to recent media reports Bikram Majithia has sought an apology from Takht Sri Hazur Sahib also.

As per information Bikram Majithia has mailed his apology late in the night on Sunday (April 27), soon after he was informed of his being declared a ‘tankhaiya’ (guilty of religious misconduct).

In his apology mailed to the Jathedar of the Takht, Giani Kulwant Singh, Majithia reportedly said, “As a devoted Sikh I will present myself before the takht soon after the elections and like a humble Sikh will accept and perform the ‘tankha’ (religious punishment) or ‘sewa’ that is assigned to me.”
