This is a historic event and on April 1st MPP Jagmeet Singh will be inaugurating it with a speech at a high profile event at Queens Park Legislature. All across the city, Sikh groups and organizations will be having their own celebrations.

It will be an opportunity to teach community youth about the rich Sikh cultural heritage and more importantly its contribution to Canada over more than a century.

This bill was introduced last April as it happens to be a very important and auspicious month for the Sikh community who celebrate Vaisakhi, also known as Khalsa Day which marks the creation of the Khalsa and the Sikh articles of faith.
