Dera follower dies at DMC; He was shot at Burj Jawahar Singh Wala few days back

Faridkot: A Dera Sauda Sirsa follower, who was shot at by unidentified persons on June 13, reportedly died today at DMC hospital in Ludhiana. Gurdev Singh, 35, was shot in the back of the head by the assailant soon after he opened his shop at around 5.30 am on June 13.

As per media reports the three men had come in a white Maruti Swift car that did not have a registration number plate. They asked Gurdev for soft drinks, and the moment he turned around to fetch the bottles, one of them shot him in the head.

All three managed to flee the spot after the incident. The reasons behind the incident were not known.

Local Dera followers have alleged failure on the part of police to crack the case. The dera followers had planned an agitation yesterday, which was postponned after Faridkot civil and police officials held a two hours close door meeting with the Dera followers.
