Fact Finding Committee of Academicians Slam PSEB for Distorting History; Report Submitted to CM

Chandigarh: A fact finding committee of academicians belonging to GurGian Institute for Human Concerns (GIHC) today released its report regarding revision of class XII history syllabus by Punjab School Education Board (PSEB). GIHC co-ordinator and head of Guru Gobind Singh Department of Religious Studies, Dr. Gurmeet Singh shared the findings of the committee at Press Club in Chandigarh after submitting the report to the Office of Punjab CM.

“The committee has found that an attempt has been made of present mythology as history whereas established historical facts were distorted”, said Dr. Gumeet Singh while maintaining that there was a deep rooted conspiracy behind this.
He said that in revised edition of class XII textbook of history, three chapters are related to ‘Nationalism’; however, added he, the nationalism was more a topic of political science than the history.
He said that many facts have been distorted or omitted to make the subject matter suitable for Hindutva ideology.
