Kejriwal Govt. Avoids Service of Notice in Prof. Bhuller Case; HC Permits “By Hand” Service

New Delhi: In a rare instance Punjab and Haryana High Court granted special permissions to lawyers of Prof. Devinder Singh Bhullar to serve court notice to the Home Department of Delhi government by hand and also by registered post. These directions were issued on Friday (November 18th, 2022) as Prof. Bhullar’s lawyers told the court that the Delhi government was avoiding service of court notice for the past five months.

Professor Devendra Pal Singh Bhullar is undergoing imprisonment for life in a case related to Delhi State. Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has dismissed his case for permanent release. Professor Davinder Pal Singh Bullar’s lawyers have challenged this decision of Delhi government in Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Professor Bhullar’s lawyers maintain that for the past five months Delhi government was avoiding service of court notice which was causing undue delay in initiation of court proceedings on there are writ petitions demanding permanent release of Prof. Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar.

“As the Court has allowed us to serve notice to the Home Department of Delhi government through local magistrate, we shall ensure service of notice by hand, and through registered post, in coming days”, Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjpur of Panjaab Lawyers told Sikh Siyasat News over phone.
