Khadur Sahib based Sikh Hockey Academy wins India level Tournament

Mohali, Punjab (September 7, 2014): Khadur Sahib based Baba Uttam Singh National Hockey Academy won 13th All India ONGC SN Vohra Memorial Sub-Junior (U-14) Hockey Tournament here on Astroturf ground defeating Surjit Hockey Academy Jalandhar by 6-4 in final match.

The academy is running under Baba Sewa Singh Kaar Sewa Wale, noted environmentalist, educationist and sports promoter.

The champion team was awarded with cash prize of 45,000/- Rupees besides a trophy and gold medals.

Rahul Singh, the goal keeper of the winner team, honoured with the award of “Best player of the tournament” whereas awards of “Best fullback” and “Best forward” were given to Ravinder Singh and Prabhjot Singh respectively.

In the semi-final match, the Khadur Sahib team had thrashed Haryana Eleven Sonipat by 5-0.

Baba Sewa Singh who is on visit of UK currently, sent congratulatory message to the team and its coaches Balkar Singh and Balwinder Singh.
