Ludhiana Fake Encounter: AAP’s state convener seeks Deputy CM’s resignation

Chandigarh: In wake of recent staged/fake encounter of two young brothers in Jamalpur locality of Ludhiana, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state unit has demanded resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal. Raising this demand AAP state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur maintained that Sukhbir Badal had failed to control the state police.

He raised a demand that book Rajwinder Kaur, Sarpanch of Bohapur village, should also be booked in Ludhiana Fake Encounter case. The victims, Jatinder Singh and Harinder Singh, belonged to Bohapur village, near Machhiwara.

Chhotepur also sought dismissal of the suspended Khanna Senior Superintendent of Police.

Addressing a press conference along with family members of the victims, AAP state leader called upon political parties to join hands to check “police repression on political opponents” of the Badal-BJP alliance. He said the next course of action would be decided on October 7 at Bohapur where the bhog ceremony of the deceased youth would be held.

He laid emphasis that a CBI inquiry should be ordered since the state police assisted an Badal Dal leader in killing the two brothers. He alleged that the “politicisation” of the police had led to deterioration of law and order situation in the state.

He said the two brothers had put up a polling camp in support of AAP candidate Harinder Singh Khalsa during the Lok Sabha elections and ensured a lead of 270 votes from Bohapur village for him. The SAD leaders had been nursing a grudge against them since then, he alleged.
