Expressing solidarity with the family members, who fought the cases with determination, he said the court took 25 years to punish the guilty cops and during all these years the family members of deceased suffered immense pain and agony.
He said it’s unfortunate that hundreds of Sikh youths were killed extra-judicially in Punjab during militancy era but very few guilty cops were persecuted and punished for their sins. He pinned hope that the Pilibhit court verdict would show the way in those fake encounter cases that were still pending in the court of law.
Similarly, the organization hailed the Amritsar TADA court for discharging Prof. Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar in an old Batala case. He hoped that after today’s acquittal of Prof Bhullar the Punjab government would not create any unnecessary hurdles for his release on parole.
