Pity That Disgraced & Rejected Jathedar’s Are Passing Sermons: Dal Khalsa

Amritsar Sahib: Sticking to original Nanakshahi calendar adopted in April 2003, the Dal Khalsa has resolved that they would be observing the Gurpurab of Tenth Master Guru Gobind Singh on Jan 5.

While out rightly rejecting the call given by Takhat Jathedar’s in its meet today to observe the day on Dec 25 as per Bikrami, the Dal Khalsa appeals to Sikh Sangat to observe ‘Gurpurab’ on Jan 5 as these “disgraced” Jathedars have no moral authority to pass sermons.
During an interaction with the media Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh and coordinator Jasbir Singh Khandur said the Sikhs at large has rejected Gaini Gurbachan Singh as jathedar Akal Takhat after he along with his companions took “faulty” decision to pardon rapist baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
From the day first we had rejected the tampering of Nanakshahi and reverting to Bikrami calendar by SGPC under pressure from Nanaksar samparda via Badals.
They came down heavily on Badals for not removing Gurbachan Singh as Jathedar and said his removal was “essential” for peace and unity within the community.
