The Haryana government had invited affidivits from the Sikhs of Haryana while a committee headed by finnace minister Harmohinder Singh Chattha was formed.

Interacting with the media persons during the Sangat Darshan program of Talwandi Sabo assembly segment on Saturday Badal said that the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) had came into existence after enormous sacrifices made by the Sikhs during the mighty British Raj. He said that the Congress has always adopted an anti-Sikh stance and the fresh move of the Congress government in Haryana had proved that a ‘leopard cannot change its spots’.

“Haryana Chief Minister’s announcement was politically motivated as he was trying to take mileage out of it in the coming state assembly polls”, alleged upset Badal.

170 members SGPC controls all the Gurdwaras of Punjab while 25 Gurdwaras of Haryana as well. Over 12 lakh Sikh voters in Haryana state seemed to be important to Hooda as the elections in the state are not away while he did nothing during his five years term as CM. Sikhs in Haryana had been demanding separate committee for the Gurdwaras of the state for last some years.
