Sikh attacked with acid in Delhi; Hairs cut forcibly, auto-rickshaw burnt

New Delhi: A Sikh was yesterday admitted to trauma section of Safdarjang Hospital in Delhi after an acid by three persons. Ranjit Singh, 60, an auto-rickshaw driver was beaten up by three persons, reportedly of Hindu community, over some issue. The attackers also cut his hairs and attacked him with acid.

Sources told SSN that condition of Ranjit Singh, a resident of Bhogal area, was stable.

Various Sikh organization including Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), Paramjit Singh Sarna led Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi), Delhi Unit of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), United Sikh Movement and Seva84 held a protest outside Nizamudin police station against police inaction in this case.

The protester alleged that police was not registering F.I.R. in order to protect attackers.

As per information the auto-rickshaw of Ranjit Singh was also burnt.
