Sikh Jatha to leave for Pakistan on 15 Nov. to observe Parkash Gurpurb of Guru Nanak Ji

Amritsar, Punjab (November 7, 2013): According to information released by the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) secretary Dalmegh Singh a Sikh jatha will leave for Pakistan on November 15 to mark the Parkash Gurpurb of Guru Nanak Ji at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib. In a press release, a copy of which is available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), SGPC secretary Dalmegh Singh has said the jatha would be led by SGPC member Randhir Singh Cheema.

“The pilgrims will visit Gurdwara Sacha Sauda in Sheikupur district on November 16 and return to Nankana Sahib. On the following day, they will take part in the ‘prakash utsav’ celebrations”.

On November 18, the jatha will visit the historical Gurdwara Panja Sahib.

“After a two-day stay there, the pilgrims will visit Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore. On November 22, the jatha will visit Gurdwara Rori Sahib at Eminabad and Gurdwara Kartapur Sahib, the place last lived by Guru Nanak Ji. Thereafter, the pilgrims will return to Lahore” Dalmesh Singh added.

The pilgrims will return to Punjab on November 24, 2013.

SGPC secretary has advised the pilgrims to confirm their visa information from SGPC’s office via phone numbers 0183-2553957, 2553958, and 2553959 before coming to join the Jatha.
