Sukhbir Badal Confirms Police Encounter at One Place After Nabha Jail Escape

Chandigarh: Addressing media persons Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal said that Nabha jail superintendent and deputy superintendent have been dismissed from service after today’s jailbreak at Maximum Security Jail, Nabha. He further said that DGP Prisons (Sanjiv Gupta) is placed under suspension.

Sukhbir Badal’s statement was aired by PTC News.

Sukhbir Badal said that a high level inquiry has been set-up and a Special Task Force (STF) is formed to conduct the ‘operation’ to catch the escapees.

Sukhbir Badal said that the police had an encounter with the escapees at a place but he did not disclosed any further details, including the place of the encounter.

Punjab Deputy CM also alleged Pakistan’s hand behind the reported Jailbreak in Nabha. “Pak desperate to revive terror post surgical strike. Could be behind jail break. /3“, reads a tweet by Sukhbir Badal.

Law & Order has completely broke down in Punjab: Alleges Capt. Amarinder:

Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee president Capt. Amarinder Singh has alleged that the reported jailbreak in Nabha exposes the complete breakdown of law and order in Punjab.

“#punjabjailbreak points to complete law & order breakdown in the state. Concerned about major mischief this will play in upcoming elections“, Capt. Amarinder said in a tweet.
