Human Rights conference in EU Parliament to discuss the Sikh genocide 1984 and challenges to the Sikh identity

London, United Kingdom (October 25, 2013): According to a press release sent to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) by the Sikh Federation (UK), the UK based Sikh body is going to organise a Human Rights Conference in the European Parliament in Brussels on Monday 4 November 2013.

US lawsuit against Sonia Gandhi: Congress lawyer sees improper practice by Sikhs for Justice

New York, USA (October 24, 2013): According to certain media reports Congress Party’s council US – Ravi Batra said Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) had indulged in "improper judge-and-venue-shopping" while filing lawsuits against the leaders in several federal courts. He was referring to recent lawsuits filed by the Sikhs for Justice and the victims/survivors of Sikh Genocide 1984 in US Federal Courts.

New York: (October 23, 2013): During the initial hearing in the pending human rights violation case against Congress President Sonia Gandhi the rights group “Sikhs For Justice” (SFJ) filed affirmation of Service with the US Federal Court. The affirmation of service claims that pursuant to Court’s order the plaintiffs served the Sonia Gandhi through hospital and security staff at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Germany Sikh bodies jointly appeal for 1984yesitsgenocide petition

Mannheim, Germany (October 20, 2013): It is learnt that various Sikh bodies of Germany have issued an appeal to join the 1984yesitsgenocide campaign initiated by US based human rights and advocacy group “Sikhs for Justice” (SFJ). SFJ has opened a petition for online signatures that shall be submitted to a United Nations’ body on 1 November.

U.S. Court to hear Human Rights violation case against Congress (I) chief Sonia Gandhi on Oct 22

New York, USA (October 17, 2013): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), a Federal Court of the United States of America (USA) has ordered initial status conference in the pending case against Congress President Sonia Gandhi for shielding human rights violators. Judge Brian M. Cogan will hold the status conference on October 22 in accordance with Fed. R. Civ. P. 16.

Sikh Genocide 1984 Petition to be submitted to UN on 1 Nov

Jalandhar/ Ludhaina, Punjab (October 17, 2013): It is learnt that on the occasion of 29th anniversary of Sikh Genocide 1984, a petition signed by around a million Sikhs throughout world, will be filed with the United Nations in Geneva on November 1, 2013. The Sikh Genocide Petition will be handed to Navi Pillay, UN human rights chief by a delegation of rights group “Sikhs for Justice” (SFJ), All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) and Gurudwara representatives from Europe and North America.

US Court summons to be served on Manmohan Singh in India: Sikhs for Justice

Washington DC, US (October 02, 2013): Following Washington DC’s law on service of summons, plaintiffs “Sikhs for Justice” (SFJ) will now serve Manmohan Singh in India through Hague Convention on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extra-Judicial Documents. Due to the high security detail, the rights group could not serve outstanding US Federal Court summons on Prime Minister during Obama-Singh meeting at White House.

Chandigarh/ Punjab (October 01, 2013): Recently, a US based Sikh advocacy and Human Rights group, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) got registered, in the US Courts, complaints against Indian political leaders including Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for their alleged role in shielding the perpetrators of the Sikh Genocide 1984. The US Courts issued summons against the concerned Indian leaders in these lawsuits.

The rights violation case “SFJ v. Manmohan Singh”, has been docketed under 13-cv-01460 and assigned to US District Judge, James E. Boasberg. The Plaintiffs have 120 days to serve the summons and complaint on PM who will be in Washington this week to meet US President Obama.

New York, United States (September 11, 2013): It is learnt that in the pending case of shielding prominent Indian politicians and workers of the Congress party from any action for their involvement in the Sikh Genocide 1984, the US based Sikh rights group “Sikhs for Justice” (SFJ) on September 10, 2013, managed to get the summons of the US court served to Congress president Sonia Gandhi through hospital and security staff at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre in New York.
