Cogan, has ordered service of summons and complaint on Congress President Sonia Gandhi through Hospital Staff or security personnel of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer where she is believed to be under medical care.

Sikh groups in Canada to go after Punjab cops indulged in crimes against humanity & torture

Ontario, Canada (August 23, 2013): It is learnt that Sikh diaspora organizations of Canada like the Canadian Sikh Coalition (CSC) and Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) are planning to chase and target Punjab cops for their role in torture of Canadian citizens in Punjab. As per information CSC and SFJ are planning to prepare a case, which will be presented to the Canadian government, declaring Punjab police force as violator of human rights so as to deny its officers visas to that country.

Fearing litigation Punjab Dy. CM Sukhbir Badal cancels visit to Canada

Ontario/ New Delhi, Canada/ India (August 23, 2013): As per recent reports the deputy chief minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal has cancelled his planned 10-day visit to Canada on August 22, 2013 after the Canadian government said that they will not offer any immunity to him against any civil suit that may be filed against him there. They have also allegedly refused to provide him security during the trip.

Sikhs for Justice retains international firm to serve summons on Punjab CM Badal in India

New York, United States (July 16, 2013): The New York based human rights group “Sikhs for Justice” (SFJ) announced to serve the outstanding US Federal Court summons on Chief Minister Badal in India through Hague Service Convention. The Sikh rights group earlier offered $20,000/- to anyone who could successfully serve Badal with the summons as CM was scheduled to attend marriage in Milwaukee.

US: Sikhs for Justice challenges dismissal of Human Rights violation case against Badal

New York, United States (June 15, 2013): Rights group challenged the dismissal of human rights violation case against CM Badal and filed appeal with the US Circuit Court. The Sikh group has challenged the May 17 order of Federal Judge dismissing the case against CM Badal for failure to effectuate service and the order denying rights group’s motion to conduct jurisdictional discovery. Judge Adelman had dismissed the case holding that that CM Badal was never served with the court summons as claimed by the rights group 'Sikh for Justice' (SJF) and SAD (Amritsar).
