Indian journalist Kuldip Nayar passed away in Delhi today. His funeral will be conducted at 1 pm today at the Delhi's Lodhi Road based crematorium.
Amritsar, Punjab (December 20, 2012): Columnist and writer Kuldip Nayar has removed objectionable contents about Dal Khalsa and AISSF president Amrik Singh from his autobiography in order to pacify the hurt feelings of devout Sikhs. However, the author has not deleted the controversial portion relating to Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale, which has left the Panthic groups far from being satisfied.
Ludhiana (July 30, 2012): Harish Khare, a senior Indian journalist and former media advisor to the Prime Minister of India has made serious comments about Kuldip Nayar and his journalism. In a write-up titled: "Scoops, And Vanishing Cream" that has appeared in "Outlook" Magazine's current issue, Harish Khare says that "A great reporter, Nayar is also a regular flouter of objectivity, and a prime circulator of bogus, juicy gossip".
Dear Brother H S Phoolka, Sat Sri Akal ji. I read your statement in newspapers in which you had asked your Sikh brethren to stop portraying Kuldip Nayar as enemy of the Sikhs, keeping in view his past services towards the Sikhs, especially during 1984 tragic events. We believe in your words that Nayar took strong note of army attack and Nov killings and voiced his concern in favour of the community.

Baljeet Singh, thorough discussion was held on the issue of controversy surrounding “Beyond the Lines – an autobiography” book by Kuldip Nayar.
Amritsar, Punjab (July 23, 2012): As per a news-brief that appeared on Express News Service (ENS) the Dal Khalsa on Sunday (July 22, 2012) slammed Indian Supreme Court lawyer Harwinder Singh Phoolka for saying that journalist Kuldip Nayar was not an enemy of Sikhs and thus, his apology should be accepted.
Amritsar (June 20, 2012): The Sikh groups took serious view of the derogatory remarks published in the autobiography of veteran journalist Kuldeep Nayar and asked him to clear all false accusations within one weeks time, failing which they would be forced to write to Punjab government seeking ban on his book and also resorting to street protests.
Chandigarh, Punjab (July 22, 2012): In response to July 19 communication from Kuldip Nayar affirming his apology for hurting the sentiments of Sikh community with comments regarding Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and Shaheed Bhai Amrik Singh, AISSF demanded that Nayar should tender his apology to Giani Gurbachan Singh Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.
New Delhi, India (July 22, 2012): As per media reports senior Sikh advocate H. S. Phoolka has asked the Sikh organizations to stop protests against veteran journalist Kuldip Nayar for his book Beyond The Lines; An Autobiography while accepting his apology in the spirit of remembering and appreciating his past endeavours for the community.
Amritsar, Punjab (July 18, 2012): Hard times seem to be far from being over for Journalist Kuldip Nayar. Sikh organizations have took exception to the contents of the apology issued on behalf of Kuldip Nayar stating that the objectionable parts of his controversial autobiography shall be removed in the next edition.
During November 1984, in a write-up Published in a Punjabi Daily on November 15, 1984 Kuldip Nayar wrote that: "Hindus would never accept that Sikhs are a distinct nation". He presented this as a prime condition to rebuilt cordial relations between Hindus and Sikhs.
Ludhiana (July 17, 2012): A Jalandhar based Punjabi daily's senior staff is proactive now-days to pacify Sikh outrage against Kuldip Nayar due to unwarranted and outrageous claims made in his recently released auto-biography titled: “Beyond the Lines – and auto-biography”.
Chandigarh (July 17, 2012): Karnail Singh Peermohammad has declared to have accepted journalist Kuldeep Nayar's apology. He has urged Nayar to withdraw that portion from his authobiography 'Beyond the lines' which has hurt Sikh community sentiments.
Amritsar (July 17, 2012): Bhai Mohkam Singh convenor of Khalsa Action Committee has renewed his call to various Sikh organizations and personalities to attend 20 July meeting, to be held at Bhai Gurdas Hall Amritsar, to discuss the issue of vilified propaganda against Sikh personalities and organizations in Kuldip Nayar's auto-biography.
Ludhiana, Punjab (July 17, 2012): “There is a name-sake humbleness and mischievous activeness hidden in apology tendered by Kulip Nayar to the Sikhs” comments Karamjeet Singh, a Chandigarh based senior Journalist and Former additional editor of a Punjabi Tribune. In his recent write-up published in Pehredar, a Punjabi daily published from Ludhiana, S. Karamjeet Singh says that “intelligent enemy (Kulip Nayar) is finding it hard to reply the question raised on him after release of his auto-biography”.
Jalandhar/Ludhiana (July 15, 2012): As per information available with "Sikh Siyasat" journalist Kuldeep Nayar has tendered an unconditional apology to the Sikhs for the “unintentional” hurt caused to the community for certain remarks in his autobiography ‘Beyond the Lines: An Autobiography’.
Amritsar, Punjab (July 14, 2012): The Khalsa action Committee (KAC) has convened a meeting to discuss the issue of Journalist Kuldip Nayar's controversial autobiography ‘Beyond the Lines’, in which he made any baseless and highly controversial claims regarding respectable Sikh personalities and organizations.
