Patiala, Punjab (August 03, 2013): It is learnt that a Patiala court has convicted Sikh political prisoner Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana in an 18 years old Arms Act case and sentenced him to undergo two years of imprisonment. As per information this case was registered at Patiala on December 25, 1995 under the Arms Act.

As per information Harish Singla, the Vice-President of Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray) Punjab has warned the Punjab government that if a case against Bhai Rajoana is not registered in this regard, their faction of Shiv Sena will stage protests against government across the state.

Punjab CM Beant Singh was killed in a bomb blast on 31 August, 1995.

Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana, who is in jail and is believed not to have actually watched the movie, has alleged that the movie is an attempt to make Jagtar Singh Hawara a hero. He said that the story of movie is untrue.
