Ludhiana, Punjab: Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann and other leaders have called a meeting of the committee formed to seek justice in the Ludhiana Fake encounter killings case on October 19. Two brothers, Harinder Singh and Jatinder Singh, were shot dead from point black range allegedly by Badal Dal leader Gurjit Singh in the presence of the police on September 27 during a police raid in Jamalpur area of Ludhiana.
Chandigarh: In wake of recent staged/fake encounter of two young brothers in Jamalpur locality of Ludhiana, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state unit has demanded resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal. Raising this demand AAP state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur maintained that Sukhbir Badal had failed to control the state police.
Samrala, Punjab (Oct. 03): The cold blooded murder of two young brothers of a Dalit family by Punjab police in complicity with a SAD (Badal) leader has triggered widespread outrage against Badal-BJP ruling combine in Punjab. Various political parties, including the Punjab Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Left sections, BSP, People's Party of Punjab (PPP) and Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) have joined hands to protest the killing of two youths.
Ludhiana (Oct. 02): In what could be viewed as a strong rebuttal of accused cops claim that Harvinder Singh and Jatinder Singh were killed in self-defense as one of the them had snatched an AK-47 from a home guard, the autopsy report shows that the two youth were shot in the head from close range.
Ludhiana (Oct. 01): The Aam Aadmi Party today organized state-wide protests and demonstration at all district headquarters in Punjab. Aam Aadmi Party state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur participated in protest-demonstration held outside Deputy Commissioner office in Ludhaina, whereas at other places the protests were led by local party leaders.
Ludhaina, Punjab (Oct. 01): As per media reports, the preliminary investigations into the Ludhiana shooting case have shown that it was SAD (Badal) leader Gurjit Singh who had shot at brothers Harinder Singh and Jatinder Singh from close range.
Ludhiana, Punjab: The main accused in the Ludhiana fake encounter killings Gurjit was earlier a Congress loyalist. The police have found that Harmanpinder Singh, whom Gurjit used to call his nephew, is not his relative. Gurjit, a landlord who owns a lavish farmhouse at Balachaur, entered politics in 2008. He had contested the block samiti elections on a Congress ticket in 2008. Later, Gurjit joined the SAD. His wife, Rajwinder Kaur, had contested the sarpanch election on a SAD (Badal) ticket.
Ludhiana: Politics has started over the cold-blooded killing of two brothers in Jamalpur area of Ludhaina. A day after Senior Superintendent of Police, Khanna, Harsh Bansal, was suspended and Machhiwara Station House Officer Manjinder Singh dismissed following the killings of two Dalit youths of Bohapur village, residents of 15 villages staged a protest at Neelon on Sept. 30 claiming that police and a ruling party leader accused in this case were not to be blamed for the incident.
Ludhiana, Punjab (Oct. 01): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has termed the police-ruling party complicity in Jamalpur/ Ludhiana fake encounter killing of two AAP activists as a well-planned conspiracy. AAP's Punjab convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur said that police involvement in the crime has already been established and it points to a well-planned conspiracy.
Chandigarh (Sept. 30): Two days after a police party along with a leader of ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) killed two young brothers in Jamalpur area of Ludhiana, the Punjab Government, on Sept. 29 suspended Khanna SSP Harish Kumar Bansal besides dismissing four others for their alleged involvement in the Jamalpur fake encounter.
Ludhiana, Punjab (Sept. 29): A detailed report by Mohit Khana, The Tribune journalist, says: [t]he cold-blooded gunning down of two young brothers, Harinder Singh and Jatinder Singh, allegedly by an Akali (Badal Dal) leader in connivance with a police party yesterday (Sept. 27) at Jamalpur near Ludhiana was reportedly a case of political rivalry. Hailing from Bhopur village near Machhiwara, the youths were active supporters of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). They belonged to a poor Dalit family and were popular kabaddi players.
Ludhiana, Punjab (Sept. 28): In an incident that appears to be in clear violations of guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court of India few days back, the Khanna police gunned down two young brothers in a 'police encounter' in Jamalpur area of Ludhiana on Sept. 27.
