Pro-Freedom Sikh groups today observed the death anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Dilawar Singh who had attained martyrdom to free Sikhs of Punjab the clutches of usurper Punjab CM Beant Singh on 31 August 22 years ago and vowed to carry on the mission of martyrs.
Slamming the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) for its callous attitude towards Sikh sensibilities, the Dal Khalsa today hits out at the Gurdwaras management body for hurriedly and conspicuously concluding the Shaheedi Samagam of Bhai Dilawar Singh at Akal Takhat.
The Sikh Sangat of Germany marked martyrdom Day official he Dilawar Singh at Gurdwara Sikh Centre Frankfurt and remembered the sacrifice of Bhai Dilawar Singh. Bhog of Sri Akand Paath Sahib were held in the memory of Bhai Dilawar Singh and Kirtani Jatha of Bhai Amrik SIngh Kathiali recited Gurbani kirtan.
Taking a dig at the SGPC for its meek response to this Panthic demand, Sikh groups namely Dal Khalsa, SAD (Amritsar) and Panch Pardhani has urged the Jathedar of Akal Takht, Gaini Gurbachan Singh to direct the SGPC to install the portrait of Bhai Dilawar Singh in the Sikh Central Museum.

Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, who is currently confined in Delhi based Tihar Jail, has issued an appeal to all Sikh organization to show unity on Shaeed Dilawar Singh's martyrdom day.

As per information Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will release this stamp in the first week of September in Delhi.

Amritsar/Punjab (August 29, 2012): Bhai Dilawar Singh was declared as national martyr of Sikhs by Akal Takhat Sahib earlier this year. The status was formally tendered upon him after more than sixteen years of his martyrdom though he was considered as a martyr by Sikhs since the day of martyrdom.
