Sikhs win Turban Case against France at the United Nations

Paris, France (October 08, 2013): It is learnt that the United Nations Human Rights Committee (UNHRC) concluded that France has violated the religious freedom of 57 year old Shingara Mann Singh when he was asked to remove his turban for his passport photograph.

Sikh genocide and sovereignty conference resolved to file criminal complaint before UN regarding Sikh Genocide 1984

BC, Canada (August 22, 2013): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) the Sikh Genocide and Sovereignty Conference held in Canada, by the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), resolved to support the filing of a criminal complaint before the United Nations regarding the massacre of Sikhs during Sikh Genocide of November 1984 against the Indian National Congress. The conference was held on August 17, 2013.

United Nations asked to probe killings of Sikhs in Punjab

London, United Kingdom (July 06, 2013): Khalsa Human Rights, the human rights wing of the Sikh Federation (UK), has written to Professor Christof Heyn, the UN Special Rapporteur on extra judicial, summary or arbitrary executions following the confession last week by Sub-Inspector Surjit Singh of the atrocities committed by him and security forces in Punjab in the early 1990s.
