Village Hondh-Chillar: Living Paradigm of “Sikh Genocide”

Hondh, Haryana (February 24, 2011): Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jatherdar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib visited the village Hondh-Chillar, District Rewari, Haryana where mass Grave of Sikhs killed in November 1984 has been discovered after 26 years by the sustained and unceasing efforts of Engineer Manvinder Singh Giaspur.

Echoing the pain to see the ruins of Village Giani Gurbachan Singh stated that the forlorn debris, burnt houses and Gurudwara are the living Paradigm of “Sikh Genocide” and the most specific and convincing evidence of Sikhs localities being attacked and wiped out throughout India in a identical pattern in which armed groups would cordon the Sikh neighborhood, rape the women and burn the men and children alive.

Giani Gurbachan Singh showed shock at the stance of Congress leaders including PM Dr. Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi who have not come forward in the support of justice for the victims of village Hondh-Chillar. The systematic killing of Sikhs during November 1984 and the pattern of immunity given to the organizers and leaders of the crime shows that Sikh community is not safe and are still not independent in India stated Giani Gurbachan Singh.

Directing the Sikh community to take part in the March 6th Bhog ceremony organized by All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) and “Sikhs For Justice” (SFJ) with the support of Singh Sabha Gurudwaras of Gurgaon in the memory of the victims of village Hondh-Chillar, Giani Gurbachan Singh stated that it is the duty of the living to raise the voice for justice and get those responsible for the killings of Sikhs behind bars.
All India Sikh Students Federation, President Karnail Singh Peermohammad and Secretary General Davinder Singh Sodhi who accompanied Sri Sahib Akal Takhat Jathedar to the village Hondh-Chillar, are being Directed by Giani Gurbachan Singh along with US based human rights advocacy group “Sikhs For Justice” to locate and investigate such sites throughout India and submit their report to Sri Akak Takhat Sahib.

All India Sikh Students Federation, President Karnail Singh Peermohammad and Secretary General Davinder Singh Sodhi declared that their organization with the support from “Sikhs For Justice” will launch a India wide “Justice Campaign” and will visit all cities where Sikhs were killed and submit its report to Akal Takhat Sahib by November 1st, 2011.
