Bleak Future for the Indian Sub-Continent If Narendra Modi Returns to Power [Op-Ed]

Exit Polls have rightly or wrongly, honestly or fraudulently indicated that the right wing ultra nationalist party Hindutva organizations under Mr. Narender Modi will form the next Union Government. This radicalized Hindutva organization has sworn that they would create a theocratic Hindu Rashtra or Nation.

Mr. Narender Modi as Chief Minister of Gujarat had 2,000 innocent Muslims massacred in cold blood by his RSS goons and scalawags. To insult the Muslims he had these goons’ rape Muslim women and then had these gory scenes video-graphed for posterity. In 2013 Mr. Modi in the same capacity of Chief Minister of Gujarat had 60,000 Sikh farmers dispossessed of their legitimately acquired farmlands. Sikh farmers were ethnically cleansed from Gujarat, while Mr. Parkash Singh Badal then Chief Minister of Punjab quietly behaved as Mr. Modi’s vassal and didn’t stop this horrendous crime.

During the five years as Premier of the Hindu Indian state Mr. Modi has unleashed state terror in Jammu and Kashmir against its Muslim population. In Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra Mr. Modi has ruthlessly terrorized the Advises or Aborigines, the original natives of the Indian sub-continents. His Union Government has dubbed these natives as Maoists and Naxalites which somehow or the other gives Mr. Modi the logic to have them shot dead in extra judicial murders by his para-military forces. In Kashmir Mr. Modi’s has promulgated a ruthless, undemocratic and unconstitutional law AFSPA which gives the armed forces the legal right to kill, maim, torture, abduct, kidnap, rape, detain any Kashmiri Muslim with impunity.

Henceforth, if Mr. Modi and his BJP RSS form the next Union Government, Mr. Modi has said in his manifesto that his government would abrogate article 370 and 35A of the Hindu Indian Constitution which gives a semblance of autonomy to the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir. With such ruthless policies of Mr. Modi waiting in the future, our party is of the opinion that these murderous steps will lead to further turmoil, not only in Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, but the Punjab will not be left behind. The Sikh national issue has not been settled since 1947.

In its manifesto BJP RSS under Mr. Modi has also sworn to change the international Riparian Law which is also a constitutional guarantee that rivers flowing through the state are the sole properties of the state through which they flow. As per the Constitution, river waters are on the state list over which the state has sovereign rights. But Mr. Modi now wants these river water rights removed from the State List and put in the Union List of the Constitution. The Punjab will never agree to this dubious policy of snatching the rights of the Punjab. Therefore, we are in for further turmoil in the Punjab as 46 lakh educated youth are unemployed.

Our party The Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) sees a dark future for the Indian sub-continent with Mr. Modi’s attempts to rule like a Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The Sikhs have never in their history tolerated a dictatorship and tyranny, as Mughal, Afghan, British and now rightwing Hindu rule will testify.
