She said that the Indian forces were involved in crimes against humanity in Punjab during the period of mid-1980s to mid-1990s when thousands of Sikhs, mostly youth but also included children, women and elderly, were subjected to enforced disappearances and were extra-judicially killed.

It may be noted here that Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra husband Jaswant Singh Khalra was a human rights activist who had exposed the truth of ‘unidentified dead bodies’ in Punjab by revealing that the police and other Indian forces were secretly cremating dead bodies of Sikhs as ‘unidentified’ after killing them during enforced disappearance. Jaswant Singh Khalra was also subjected to enforced disappearance by the Punjab police after he was picked up from him Amritsar based residence on 6 September 1996. He was secretly murdered by the police during his enforced disappearance.

Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra said that Khalra Mission Organization will hold a protest in Amritsar on July 1 to oppose Indian state’s police of impunity for crimes against humanity committed by Indian forces.
