Like Zail Singh, Indian PM Dr Manmohan Singh is also a mere showpiece: Dal Khalsa

February 4, 2014 | By

Amritsar, Punjab (February 04, 2014): The Dal Khalsa said the revelations made by Dr Gurdeep Kaur, daughter of Late Giani Zail Singh as how the then President was ignored by the Congress and PM during Blue Star and ’84 Anti Sikh massacre has not surprised them.

The organization has stated that the revelations are nothing but vindication of their stand that those Sikhs who have reached at the highest offices including the incumbent PM were a mere “showpieces”.

Dal Khalsa leader Kanwarpal Singh said both Gaini Zail Singh and Dr Manmohan Singh were elevated to the highest offices of President and Prime Minister by the Congress not because they deserve, but for their unflinching loyalty towards Gandhi parivar. He said the step-motherly treatment meted to the Sikhs is clear indication that their elevation to highest offices was a Congress ploy to deceive the civil society and international community that “all is well between Indian state and Sikhs”. He said both had failed to resolve the contentious issues related to Punjab and Sikhs in particular.

He said despite both being Sikhs, the constitutional wrongs done to the Sikhs continues to this day. He took a dig at Congress for choosing a Sikh face to tender an apology for anti-Sikh killings of Nov 1984 in 2005. “It’s is ironic that a person from the victims community was asked to seek apology on behalf of the party, who’s connivance in the massacre was open secret. This is how Congress has extracted price from Dr Sahib in lieu of political favours it had doled out to him”.
