New Book “Sikh Drishti Da Gaurav” (by Dr. Gurbhagat Singh) Released at Punjabi University

Patiala, Punjab: A new book, “Sikh Drishti Da Gaurav” was released at Syndicate Hall of Punjabi University, Patiala today. The book comprising essays penned by renowned Sikh thinker Gurbhagat Singh is edited by Sikh political analyst and author S. Ajmer Singh.

The book was released during an event attended by Sikh scholars, research fellows, university students and activists. S. Ajmer Singh and Prof. Gurmeet Singh Sidhu (head of Guru Gobind Singh Department of Comparative Religious Studies) jointly released the book.
This book is published by Singh Brothers (Amritsar) and it is a compilation of 30 essays on Sikh philosophy and ethos written by Dr. Gurbhagat Singh over the period of 30 years (1985 to 2015).

Speaking on this occasion Prof. Gurmeet Singh Sidhu hailed the scholarly contribution of Dr. Gurbhagat Singh and saluted his commitment and dedication for finding an alternative model for the mankind to ensure respectable coexistence of unique cultures.
Addressing the gathering S. Ajmer Singh discussed the scholarly enrichment of Dr. Gurbhagat Singh’s writings. He said that Dr. Gurbhagat Singh was a constant learner who was in search of the basis for a suitable model for respectable coexistence of cultures. Dr. Gurbhagat Singh explored the meta-narratives constructed by the Sikh Gurus in Gurbani and developed valuable concepts for such a model, he added.
⊕ Detailed Interview of Dr. Gurbhagat Singh Released on Sikh Siyasat App:
During the aforesaid book release event, a detailed interview with Dr. Gurbhagat Singh was released by Sikh Siyasat on ‘Sikh Siyasat Android App’.
The interview was recorded in two sitting in June 2011 by Parvaz Sra and was facilitated by Dr. Mehar Singh Gill, S. Ajmer Singh. S. Daljit Singh Sra and Dr. Sewak Singh.
Sikh Siyasat has released the interview in three parts.
The first part of it comprises the memories shared by Dr. Gurbhagat Singh about his birth, childhood, early education and family background.
The second part comprises his memories about Bhootvara and his experiences of study and teaching in America (USA) and the third part contains his philosophical thoughts and scholarly views.
