The hearing was expected to take place in second session (after lunch) of the court hours. The media persons were surprised when the police started taking away the arrested persons who were presented before the court during today’s hearing. Even the defence lawyer came to know about this development when the media persons asked him about today’s proceedings.

Talking to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) defence lawyer Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur confirmed that the hearing was set to take place in the post lunch hours. He said that three persons namely Taljit Singh @ Jimmy Singh (Sagrur Jail), Hardeep Singh alias Shera (Kapurthala Jail) and Ramandeep Singh Bagga (Ropar Jail) were not presented before the court today.

“The police had presented Jagtar Singh Johal @ Jaggi, Dharminder Singh @ alias Gugni, Amaninder Singh, Ravipal Singh, Manpreet Singh, Pahad Singh, Parvez and Malook. All these persons are confined in Maximum Security Jail, Nabha”, said he. “None else was produced during today’s heading”, he added while referring to Jimmy, Shera and Bagga.

“It is noticed that the police is not ensuring presence of all arrested persons during the court hearings as a result the court process is adversely affected”, he added.

“I was to file two applications during today’s hearing but the brief hearing was held before the scheduled time and the next date was fixed without any proceedings”, he said. He however clarified that he was able to move the applications in the court afterwards. “The court has told the NIA and the jail authorities to ensure presence of all arrested persons during the next court hearing that is to be held tomorrow”, he added.

On being asked about the matter of the applications moved by the defence today, Advocate Jaspal Singh said that one application was related to the parts of the chargesheet in Ravinder Gosain case (RC-18/2017/NIA/DLI) that were not handed over to the defence. The other application was related to health complication and medical treatment of Ramandeep Singh Bagga, he added.
