Nearly 15 years ago on the evening of 27 March 2001 following a debate in the House of Lords the leadership of the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) through it lawyers issued a written statement that was faxed to the Home Secretary.
Earlier today in debate in Parliament it was confirmed that the Home Secretary is to lift the ban on the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF).
London (July 24, 2011): The ISYF was banned in the UK more than 10 years ago in March 2001 and this was widely acknowledged at that time by many UK politicians, including Ministers that this was a direct result of pressure from the Indian authorities.
