Sikh Human Rights Group (SHRG) raised the issue of November 1984 massacre of Sikhs as 'genocide' at a UN Human Rights Council meet in Geneva.
In a written statement issued few days back Dr. Jasdev Singh Rai, director of Sikh Human Rights Group, said that he raised the issue of political prisoners at the 38th Session of Human Rights Council at Geneva under agenda 3.
Dr. Jasdev Rai, chair of Sikh Human Rights Group maintains that Indian government has agreed to release Prof. Devender Pal Singh Bhullar along with 41 other Sikh political prisoners.
The Sikh Human Rights Group wishes to draw Human Rights Council’s attention to the continuing degrading treatment of Sikh children in schools in France where the State’s inflexible narrow understanding of secularity continues to violate the dignity and self respect of Sikh children.
Sikh Human Rights Group (SHRG), an international body active since 1985, has gotten status of consultative body of Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of United Nations, revealed by its chairman Dr. Jasdev Singh Rai from UK in a seminar held in Nishan-e-Sikhi auditorium here to introducing the body and its aims and objectives.
