Chandigarh/Punjab (November 30, 2012): There are reports Ajay Devgn's recent Hindi movie “Son of Sardar” has entered 100 Crores club. Two days back on the eve of Guru Nanak Sahib's Parkash Gurpurb Ajay Devgn tweeted: “A happy gurupurab to all. What a day for Son Of Sardaar to cross 100 Crores on guru nankjis birthday! I am blessed! Thank u every1:)”.
Let me make it clear that I am not going to discuss the controversy surrounding dialogues or scenes from Ajay Devgn's recent release “Son of Sardar”. Because this issue is largely discussed in media and Sikh circles and many would agree that the controversy is almost over.
Chandigarh/Punjab (November 19, 2012): It is learnt that a local court at Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab has listened to complainants arguments against Hindi film actor-cum-producer Ajay Devgn regarding a complained filed under sections 295A, 500/501 of Indian Penal Code. The court has reserved it’s decision for December 01, 2012.
Ludhiana, Punjab (November 18, 2012): According to information available with Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) a local court in Punjab is scheduled to hold hearing for summoning Ajay Devgn, an actor-cum-producer in Hindi cinema, on a criminal complaint moved by Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema through his council Advocate Navkiran Singh.
Ludhiana/Chandiarh, Punjab (November 18, 2012): Son of Sardar, a recent Bollywood had invited controversy as some dialogues and scenes of the movie had offended the Sikhs. The movie was released on November 13, 2012 on the eve of Diwali after removal of objectionable contents.
Bollywood Star Ajay Devgn recently specially flew to Amritsar to ‘clear’ his position regarding some objections raised over by members of the Sikh community over his forthcoming film ‘Son of Sardar’.
Controversy surrounding Ajay Devgn's seems to have settled in a way that could be termed as suitable to the situation, though the anger among certain Sikh circles is still visible.

The Bollywood's latest masala-action-comedy had invited controversy as various Sikh circles had objected to certain scenes and dialogues released in a promo of the movie. Ludhiana, Punjab (November 09, 2012): With less than a week remaining in the release of Bollywood Hindi movie “Son of Sardar”, anger prevails among the Sikh circles as regards objections that were initially raised against the movie.
Nagpur, India (November 01, 2012): The controversy surrounding various portions of upcoming Hindi Movie “Son of Sardar” continues to cast shadows on the forthcoming release of the movie as there are reports that two lawyers have approached the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court against movie's producer Devgn, Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairperson Leela Samson, and five others, urging the court to stay the release of film.
According to certain media reports actor-producer Ajay Devgn recently organised a screening of the his upcoming Hindi film "Son of Sardar" for members of the Punjabi Cultural Heritage (PCH). It is notable that PCH is headed by a Congress MLC from Mulund Charan Singh Sapra.
Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab (October 27, 2012): It is learnt that the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Fatehgarh Sahib has fixed October 31, 2012 as a date to hear arguments for summoning Bollywood actor and producer Ajay Devgn on a criminal complaint filed against him.
Chandigarh/Punjab (October 10, 2012): According to reports from reliable sources Bollywood actor-producer Ajay Devgn has agreed to remove certain objectionable dialogues and scenes from his forthcoming Hindi film 'Son of Sardar'.
Patiala/ Punjab (September 14, 2012): According to information available with Sikh Siyasat a criminal complaint has been moved against Ajay Devgn, a Hindi film star cum producer in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Fatehgarh Sahib. The complaint has been moved by Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema s/o S. Harjinder Singh, r/o village Lohari Kalan, Tehsil Bassi Pathanan, Fatehgarh Sahib through his council Advocate Navkiran Singh.

Ludhiana, Punjab (September 03, 2012): According to media reports senior lawyer Navkiran Singh has sought the intervention of the Censor Board for Film Certification (CBFC) for removal of certain objectionable scenes and dialogues from actor-producer Ajay Devgn's upcoming Hindi film titled “Son of Sardaar”.
Amritsar/Punjab (September 02, 2012): News reports have appeared in certain dailies that Bollywood actors and producer Ajay Devgan would be visiting Punjab on September 03, 2012 offer their clarification about certain objections raised by Sikh personalities and organizations regarding upcoming Hindi Movie ‘Son of Sardar’ in which Ajay Devgan is playing lead Character of a Sikh. There are reports that Ajay Devgn would be accompanied by another Hindi film actor Sanjay Dutt and Director Ashwin Dheer.
Amritsar/Punjab (August 31, 2012): According to a news report by Sikh24.com the Akal Takhat Sahib Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has asked the SGPC to take up the issue of anti-Sikh remarks made in the upcoming movie ‘Son of Sardar’. Notably, Giani Gurbachan Singh told the press that he has received numerous complaints from Sikhs living all over the world about the movie. The directive passed by the Jathedar has asked the top Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee to get “questionable” scenes removed from the movie before its release.
Mumbai/Chandigarh (August 30, 2012): In a strange move actor-producer Ajay Devgn has come out in defence of his upcoming film “Son Of Sardaar” saying that the content of the film projects the Sikh community in a positive manner and it will not hurt anyone's sentiment.
