Two Students In Jammu Booked For Not Standing Up During Jan Gan Man Anthem

Jammu: The district police of Rajouri has registered an FIR against two students of Badshah University in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district for allegedly disrespecting the Jan Gan Man anthem.

As per the media reports the two students were seating on their respective chairs  when the Jan Gan Man Anthem was being sung at a function at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University on Wednesday where Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra was the chief guest, District Magistrate Shahid Iqbal Choudhary told the mediapersones present.

“We have taken cognisance of the incident of disrespect of the National Anthem by two students of Badshah University yesterday”,  reads the statement of Shahid Iqbal Choudhary published on the official website of an English tabloid.

“Disciplinary action will follow. Law will take its own course”, he said and added that a report has been sought from university authorities, notes Business Standards (BS).
