March 30, 2016 | By

SBS Nagar/ Banga: An outrageous incident of beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib is reported from village Jhander Kalan in Banga Tehsil of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshehr) district. The Gurdwara Sahib was under government control as a court had appointed Tehsildar of Nawanshehr as receiver of the Gurdwara Sahib in wake of a management related dispute.

An Ang (1137) of Guru Granth Sahib was torn from a Saroop residing at Gurdwara Shaheedan Baba Selh Barah at Jhander Kalan village. It was thrown out on streets after further cutting it. The beadbi came to the notice of local Sikh sangat on March 29 evening.

Preliminary investigation conducted by the Sikh sangat revealed that the Gurdwara Sahib was under control of Nawanshehr Tehsildar as per a court order and prima facie the administration has failed to take due care of the Gurdwara Sahib. There was no permanent sewadar at the Gurdwara Sahib.

The Parkash of the concerned Saroop of Guru Granth Sahib was last held on March 26.
