New York, USA (July 18, 2014): American Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (AGPC) has declared to organize a world Sikh conclave in United States of America (USA), India and other countries to discuss sovereign authority of the Akal Takht Sahib.
Bhai Mohkam Singh, in a statement, said the issue of a separate gurdwara committee for Haryana was purely political. He said the Act in this regard was formulated by the Haryana Government while Jagdish Singh Jhinda and Deedar Singh Nalvi were not signatories to it. “Therefore, the decision to ex-communicate them should be immediately withdrawn,” he said.
Chandigarh/ Punjab (July 18, 2014): Punjab's ruling party on 17 July took the opposition to the formation of separate Gurdwara committee for Haryana to the Punjab assembly. A resolution moved by Badal Dal was passed Punjab Legislative Assembly passed by voice vote a resolution seeking the Centre’s intervention in “prohibiting any state to interfere in religious matter of other states”.
Panchkula, Haryana (July 18, 2014): After attending a meeting of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee members and workers at Gurdwara Nadha Sahib (Panchkula) yesterday, the SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar said that key of Golaks of 8 Sikh Gurdwaras of Haryana shall not be handed over to newly formed HSGPC.

Chandigarh, Punjab (July 17, 2014): Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is reported to have threatened to quit if the Central government did not intervene in the issue of setting up of a separate committee in Haryana to manage Gurdwaras there. According to Badal Dal sources the party led by Badal clan is also planning to launch a jail-bharo campaign in Delhi.

A directive in this regard has reportedly been issued by Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh.

Chandigarh/ Haryana (July 14, 2014): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia today gave his assent haryana Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (HSGPC) Bill, that was passed by Haryana state assembly on July 11.
Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president Sukhbir Badal reportedly said that he would lead a Sikh delegation to meet Indian President Pranab Mukherjee to “unmask the conspiracy” allegedly hatched by Congress party to divide the Sikhs by trying to create a separate SGPC in Haryana.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) has dubbed the Haryana Government’s initiative to carve out a separate Sikh gurdwara panel for Haryana as ‘unconstitutional and illegal’. SGPC has expressed anguish over the Haryana govt's move and it has also urged the Central Government of India and the President of India to intervene and stall the move.
The Haryana state assembly today passed bill for the formation of separate Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for Haryana. The bill, titled “Haryana Sikh Gurudwara Management Bill 2014” was passed amidst walkout by opposition parties including INLD and BJP.

Two days after the Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced to form the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (HSGPC), SGPC head Avtar Singh Makkar has warned the government against "dividing the Sikh community" for the sake of political gains. He said that the SGPC leadership would not tolerate this and Haryana CM should not live in an illusion that he would succeed in creating the HSGPC.
