The Jammu and Kashmir police have reportedly detained Advo. Harpal Singh Cheema (Akali Dal Panch Pardhani) and S. Kanwar Pal Singh and Dr. Manjinder Singh Jandi of Dal Khalsa in Srinagar. These Sikh leaders were in Srinagar to participate in a Seminar being organized by All Party Hurriyat Conference led by SAS Geelani. The theme of seminar was “How to Resist the Indian State Fascism”.
Dal Khalsa thanked people of Amritsar for responding positively to its call for bandh. Kanwar Pal Singh in a statement said there was almost complete and peaceful shut down in the city and this was made possible by support and co-operation extended by people of all religion to their call.
