Patiala, Ludhiana (February 26, 2012): In a recent statement sent to various media networks, including Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), Bibi Kamaldeep Kaur, sister of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana - a Sikh political prisoner who is facing death punishment in connection with the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, said that the letter written by his brother - Bhai Rajoana, was misinterpreted by Indian media, especially the PTI.
Chandigarh, Punjab/India (January 12, 2013): As per recent media reports visiting Canadian Minister Jason Kenney told reporters in Chandigarh that Sikhs in Canada raising their voice peacefully for separate Sikh state named “Khalisthan” out of India, will not be asked to leave Canada.
January 6th (2013) was Shaheedi Day of Bhai Satwant Singh and Bhai Kehar Singh. As usual the family relatives of these martyrs were honoured by Akal Takhat Jathedar. But the Indian Media reacted and made headlines of this thing in very negative way.
On January 06, 2013 Bhai Kehar Singh and Bhai Satwant Singh were remembered by the Sikh nation on their martyrdom day. Akal Takhat Sahib, Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) and Sikh sangat observed their martyrdom day by organizing a function at Gurudwara Jhanda-Bunga Sahib near Sri Akal Takhat for three days.
Amritsar, Punjab (December 03, 2012): Dal Khalsa has expressed its displeasure as to why Indian media has not taken Gujarat CM Narendra Modi to task for his refusal to allot tickets to Muslims.
Chandigarh (August 29, 2012): Actor-producer Ajay Devgn's upcoming movie “Son of Sardar” in which he playing lead role of a Sikh character, is striking controversies – one after another. Two weeks back a Chandigarh based lawyer – Advocate Navkiran Singh, slammed a legal notice to Ajay Devgn demanding removal of objectionable parts from his movie that shows up Sikhs in bad light.
Ludhiana (August 10, 2012): Indian state system, now days, is pretending to be very worried about Sikhs living in United States, especially in the aftermath of Wisconsin tragedy. Media, as a part of state system, is also following those lines.
Bathinda (August 04, 2012): Anchor, director, Producer and actor of online TV show, titled JayHind may be facing criminal charges for making mockery of world's oldest marathon runner and Olympics 2012 torch holder Baba Fauja Singh and victims of serious crimes such as Sikh Genocide 1984.
Ludhiana (August 04, 2012): On August 02, 2012 BBC Asian Network host Nihal Arthanayake, a non-Sikh, interviewed the Jay Hind staff including the host Sumeet Raghvan. Fauja Singh’s personal trainer Harminder Singh was also on the show when the Jay Hind team was left speechless. The Jay Hind team was unable to respond to questions such as why they showed Fauja Singh wiping his face with his beard and how they could talk about the genocide of Sikhs in a humorous way.
Ludhiana (August 02, 2012): JaiHindTV, that aired a disgraceful video 8 months ago on December 05, 2011 has unconditionally apologized. JaiHindTV in it’s program JaiHind Episode 229, segment 4, had expressed it’s communal mindset and attempted to insult Baba Fauja Singh. This program presented by a so-called comedian named Sumit carries many disgraceful comments.
Ludhiana, Punjab (July 31, 2012): Where as world media is praising Baba Fauja Singh (101) for completing marathon race at the age of 101 and he gets the honour of holding Olympic torch just before that opening of London Olympic games 2012; the Indian Hindi media tried to make mockery of this incredible man.
The people participating in the discussion talked about minor discriminatory problems against minorities based on religion, against Dalits and Adivasies etc. too. But one major issue of discrimination against minorities by the Justice system was completely ignored in the discussion. Even the host Barkha Dutt was trying to project as if there was no discrimination in the secular country, with people belonging to minorities holding high positions.
Amritsar, Punjab (March 26, 2012): Indian media is up in arms to create confusion among masses by publishing misleading reports about Punjab shut down call. Various prominent Indian newspapers are trying to mislead masses by wrongfully reporting that Joint Committee formed by various Panthic organizations has rejected the program announced Akal Takhat Sahib and March 28 Punjab bandh call is not supported by Akal Takhat Sahib.
Amritsar, Punjab (January 30, 2012): Indian media was reporting since last two months that Pro-Khalistan Sikh leaders, allegedly hiding somewhere in Pakistan, were planning to trigger blasts to halt election process in Punjab.
If Indian media want to hide facts like: Prof. Bhullar's conviction is based on fractured confession extracted through torture in police custody, and that statement of confession carried thumb impression and not the signatures, and that presiding judge of supreme court bench acquitted Prof Bhullar and said that statement of confession was bundle of lies framed by the police, and that Bhullar's family members were persecuted, subjected to enforced disappearance, torture and custodial killings, it can do so, because Indian media is free to not to report these things. But Indian media has not right to report false information. That's why I believe that Indian media had launched a disinformation war against the Sikhs.
With connivance of Badal-BJP ruling alliance, Hindu extremist organizations are wildly active in hurting Sikh feelings. So many events have happened in past few weeks that indicate towards rising trend of Indo-Sikh Conflict.
Ludhiana (April 15, 2010): Two young Hindus boys were killed by some unidentified persons in the State of Punjab during 1980s. A Prominent English daily then published a report on front page making an impression that their newly wedded brides are now turned widows and the prospects of life of these Hindu women are destroyed by (Sikh) extremists.
Melbourne (January 30, 2010): The New South Wales police ruled out a race angle in the murder of Ranjodh Singh, a contact worker of Indian Origin; and arrested three Indians, including a young couple, for the crime.
Melbourne (January 27, 2010): Reports of attacks on students of Indian origin hit newspapers headline regularly. Australia has a multi-cultural population and in recent years many students from Asian countries have migrated here. Students of Indian origin form considerable portion of such migrant learners.
Melbourne (January 27, 2010): The Sikh Federation of Australia has written to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh to take urgent action against irresponsible Indian media who are creating sensation on the issue of attacks on Indian students in Australia.
