Chandigarh/ Haryana (July 14, 2014): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia today gave his assent haryana Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (HSGPC) Bill, that was passed by Haryana state assembly on July 11.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) has dubbed the Haryana Government’s initiative to carve out a separate Sikh gurdwara panel for Haryana as ‘unconstitutional and illegal’. SGPC has expressed anguish over the Haryana govt's move and it has also urged the Central Government of India and the President of India to intervene and stall the move.
The Haryana state assembly today passed bill for the formation of separate Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for Haryana. The bill, titled “Haryana Sikh Gurudwara Management Bill 2014” was passed amidst walkout by opposition parties including INLD and BJP.
