The Ministry of Home Affairs of India has reportedly gave a submission before the Supreme Court of India that the Haryana Gurdwara law commanding formation of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee should be annulled.
Sikh organisations have again started their protests against the forthcoming release of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s film, MSG: Messenger of God, and have threatened to again move the High Court, which had refused to stay the release, to reconsider its decision.
Hisar, Haryana: The investigations into Hondh Chillar genocidal massacre of the Sikhs in November 1984 were reportedly stopped as the term of the Garg Commission constituted after 27 years of the massacre has expired. The extended term of Garg commission reportedly expired on 30 September, 2014; as a result the probe that was being conducted in a Hisar court was stopped with immediate effect.

According to media reports the Haryana unit of Simranjeet Singh Mann led Shiromani Akali Dal Mann (Amritsar) wants the Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh to play the lead role in finding an amicable solution to the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) issue that is acceptable both to the Sikhs of Haryana as well as to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
The Supreme Court of India on Thursday (August 07) ordered the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandhak Committee (SGPC) and Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committe (HSGPC) to maintain a status quo on the issue of management control of all 52 Sikh shrines in Haryana till its further orders.
